Dear Mommies –

We thank you for everything you do and have done. We want you to know that you are appreciated. That you are doing and have been doing a great job. You are only human, we don’t expect you to be perfect. But to be honest you always are perfect in our eyes. You work so hard to put clothes on our bodies, food in our stomach’s and love in our hearts. It’s OK that you get tired sometimes. You can take a nap with us. It’s OK for you to cry, you can hold us in your arms. It’s OK that sometimes you get mad, so do we. You’re doing an amazing job. You are raising a beautiful human. One who is ALIVE and AWARE of their emotions. By example, you are teaching us how to work hard and live from our hearts. You are teaching us we will make mistakes but in the end it will all be OK. We see you are doing your best! We love you and just want you to rest. Mommies in this hard world; we want you to know you are the best! Don’t be so hard on yourself. You have been and are doing a great job!!!

Sincerely,

Your Children

I wrote this after having a conversation with a co-worker, who felt ashamed of something that happened at home after she lost control of her emotions in front of her child. It made me think of my Mom. I’ve heard her say to me that she felt bad for certain things that happened when I was growing up. The truth is though…she always DID HER BEST.  That’s all she could ever do and I am so grateful to her for her love. I’m grateful for her humanity. I’m grateful for her efforts to do her best even when she was going through her own tough issues. My mom is my ultimate hero and I am forever adoring her as her little baby girl. I would be NO WHERE without her constant and never ending support. In my eyes she was and is the perfect MOM. I’m pretty sure that I’m not the only one out there who feels like that.
